| One
of the things that I've found so rewarding about working on
the Corvettes at Carlisle videos is the pleasure of meeting
so many great people that are involved with the Corvette hobby.
I've tried to introduce many of them to you in my tapes and
now hope to use this section of our website to tell you a
little more of their stories or introduce to you some other
Corvette-folks we've found interesting. |
| So
it seems appropriate that for our first feature I tell you
about some of the people, who without their help, there wouldn't
be any videos or website. |
|
|
First
off there's Carol and Vince Somma. We've been going to Carlisle
shows, Hershey, Atlantic City and other car shows together
for more years then I can remember. I have to say that going
to these events is never as much fun without them. They
are both certified car nuts. They own a black '66 big-block
roadster, a '36 Ford, a Harley, a Benz, a Jeep, and a Durango.
That was Vin's '72 coupe that the two of them are standing
in front of in this picture, but he's since sold it. I happen
to know for a fact that if the right 40th anniversary ruby
red Vette came his way he would have a hard time saying
no.
Now
they both have day jobs, but have been helping me endlessly
since we started making these videos. Carol makes sure that
everyone we videotape signs a release. She also keeps track
of all the video that we're shooting and monitors the weekend
schedule so that we don't miss a thing. Vince is an all-around
utility guy. Whatever needs help to get done he's usually
on it before me. He started helping out on sound and now
shoots a lot of our second camera video. He's also the guy
who's been putting you in the passenger seat with his cool
Parade-cam footage. Whenever I start going crazy from trying
to do three things at once they remind me that car shows
are suppose to be fun. Without their help I would not have
been able to pull off a project of this magnitude, so I
am forever in their debt.
|
| When
you stop by our booth you'll get a chance to meet this
cute blonde. Susan takes care of managing our booth
and handling sales at the show. She also helps out with
keeping track of all our great customers' files and
with the packaging and fulfillment of our videos. |
|
| She's
been such a great asset to this project and my personal
life that by the time you see her at the Corvette show
she'll be my wife, Susan Del Monte. Now that she's been
going to these shows she seems to have caught the bug
and is willing to make room in the garage for a special
red convertible. So if you know of any

| My
sincere thanks to all the other people who help us out,
like Andy Obeck, Mike Kirchener, the golden pipes of
Mark Kaufman (who owns a couple of Vettes himself),
Sam Beacom (stop by his truck at S & S Sales and
get some great deals on tools) and Nicole Miller, whose
great design work is seen here on our website. |
I'd also like to thank Chip Miller, Bill Miller, John
Kutsch, Scott Berger, Lisa Leathery, Bob Hall, Diane
Vaughn, and all the great people at Carlisle Productions
for all their help and input. Thanks for all your help
with these projects and for putting on such great shows. |
|
And
last but not least, I'd like to thank all of our customers.
Thanks for taking your hard earned money and spending
it on our videos. We can't keep doing this without
you. So I hope you feel that it is a worthwhile investment
and stay with us for the ride. A special thanks to
all the great folks who wrote to us, or told us or
e-mailed us with their compliments. Of course we love
to hear about how much you enjoyed the videos, but
let us know if you feel there is room for improvement
also. What you think means a lot to us.
Check
back to our website as we update our feature section
regularly with more stories of Corvettes and Corvette
friends and more information on our videos.
