TESTIMONIAL
"The
section on the experimental cars was also much more thorough than
you would expect in this medium. Again, very interesting and well
done."Ben L. Corvettes Conquer Cancer Tour

Whether
you want to call it the last Corvettes at Carlisle of the
old millennium or the kick off of a new century, Corvettes
at Carlisle 2000 took place August 25 - 27 and will be remembered
for a long time to come.

The
show gave a fantastic look at Corvettes past, present and
future. The Chip's Choice invited cars were a chance to
see some really spectacular and unique Corvettes. Nine Corvette
prototypes were brought together for a once-in-a-lifetime
display that was like an automotive history book parked
right in front of you. Vettes like the 1959 Sting Ray racer,
the Mako Shark, the Manta Ray, the Aerovette and the Sting
Ray III were on display and showed off the evolution of
Corvette design. You'll learn how each of these concept
vehicles influenced the next generation of production Corvettes
and how they contributed to making the Corvette the world-class
automobile it is today.
The
other Vettes that were spotlighted were the tuner
cars from guys like Reeves Callaway, Lance and Chuck Mallott
and John Longenfelter. These guys are packing today's C-5
Corvettes with maximum horsepower and incorporating exotic
alloys and wind cheating design elements to make America's
best even better. See how their modifications are pointing
the way for the Corvettes of the future. |

to the 2000 video, you'll get your first look at the '53
Restoration Celebration Corvette and learn of the exciting
plans for this unique Corvette. You'll also see a truly
one-of-a-kind 1965 Sting Ray and learn the history of the
cut-away Corvette. You'll meet Tim Raisner, of the Delaware
Valley Chapter of the National Corvette Restorers Society.

fine Corvettes go up against the NCRS judges' checklist.
See Chief Corvette Engineer Dave Hill, as he explains some
of the components that go into the new Z06. There were a
couple of them on hand, along with an original Z06 for you
to check out as well. You'll also see some old Corvette
friends, meet some new ones and say goodbye to some special
ones.
