Corvettes
Video Captures Carlisle Magic
Carlisle,
PA - A just completed hour-long video fully documents the largest
event dedicated to America's favorite sports car, the Chevrolet
Corvette. "Corvettes at Carlisle '98, The Video" was
written, produced and directed by award-winning videographer Angelo
Del Monte, who captured on tape the excitement generated by combining
6,000 Corvettes and 53,000 enraptured enthusiasts.
Video taped on broadcast-quality
equipment by the professionals from Olegna Productions, this documentary
provides an "up-close" view of all the special activities
that have made Corvettes at Carlisle one of the premier automotive
events anywhere. The 1998 edition spotlighted Corvette race cars
and pace cars and featured a "racers' roundtable" of
30 drivers, team members and owners involved in Corvette racing
from 1956 to 1974. Watch as Corvette pilot Jim Jeffords is reunited
with his legendary race car, "the Purple People Eater,"
for the first time in 38 years!
The Corvettes at
Carlisle video shows you (via an overhead shot) how a parade of
450 Corvettes to downtown Carlisle turns its streets into a true
fiberglass happening. Plus you'll tour the various groupings of
Corvettes that made up the over 1,500-car show field and see many
of them cruise past the Carlisle grandstand to receive celebrity-pick
trophies. And it wouldn't be Corvettes at Carlisle without special
guests such as Elfi Arkus-Duntov, the first lady of the Corvette.
